Gigabyte have been around for quite some time now. Apart from being known to delivery high quality graphic cards, they’re also known for their high quality motherboards. The Gigabyte B550 AORUS Master motherboard is no exception. In this Gigabyte B550 AORUS Master motherboard review, we will be going over the specifications, features and design aspect of this motherboard in detail.
Specifications
While the B550 is usually known as a scaled-down version of the X570 chipset, this motherboard is certainly not the case. When comparing the B550 AORUS Master motherboard to an X570 motherboard, we can’t find a single aspect where the B550 is left behind. With the B550 AORUS Master, you will be getting almost the same features while paying less.
The B550 AORUS Master motherboard boasts 12 USB ports. Six of these USB ports are comprised of the usual USB 2.0 ports, which are more than enough for peripherals. The other six ports are super fast 10Gbps USB 3.2 Gen 2 ports, one of which is USB-C.
When it comes to networking, the B550 AORUS Master motherboard features the spectacular WiFi 6 802.11ax 2T2R and Bluetooth 5 for wireless connections. For wired connections, this motherboard features the Realtek® 2.5GbE LAN chip. This means that the LAN chip on this motherboard supports speeds up to 2500Mbps, but unfortunately speeds that high are still a pretty rare sight to see. Having said that, even though such speeds are rare, they do exist.
Memory capacity definitely won’t be a problem as this motherboard supports up to 128GB of RAM. The maximum speed supported is a whopping 4733MHz. With six SATA slots, and triple Ultra-Fast NVMe PCIe 4.0/3.0 x4 M.2 slots, you’ll be able to connect six SATA SSDs and three M.2 SSDs.
Cooling on this motherboard could not be better. This motherboard features an advanced Thermal Design with Fins-Array Heatsink, Direct Touch Heatpipe, Thermal Baseplate and all M2 slots are equipped with Thermal Guards. Apart from that, there are eight 4-pin fan headers spread around the motherboard, so connecting fans to cool down the PC won’t be a nightmare.
Design
When it comes to design, GIGABYTE never disappoints, and certainly not with this motherboard. The all black and gray design provides a super sleek look. Apart from providing a sleek look, black and gray colors also match with the majority of hardware components that exist. So matching the other components with this motherboard certainly won’t be a problem.
If you’re into RGB, you’ll definitely like the Gigabyte B550 AORUS Master motherboard. With RGB in every corner, this motherboard will fill your whole case with whatever color you want.
RGB Fusion 2.0
Thanks to the AORUS RGB Fusion 2.0 software, controlling RGB has never been easier. You can control each RGB section of the motherboard separately. And there’s even the option to turn the RGB off if you’re not into it, or just want to turn it off at night. The RGB Fusion 2.0 software also supports profiles.
So after perfecting your RGB lights, just create a profile and your RGB settings will all be saved in that profile. The functionality to have multiple RGB profiles and switch between them is truly amazing. I personally like to set up a profile for different activities such as work, gaming, and watching movies.
