The Crucial X8 Portable SSD 4TB model has just been released, and we immediately had to get our hands on it to write a review. The X8 Portable SSD has been released back in 2019, but Crucial has now released a 4TB model.

The 1TB starts at just $99.99, and at the time of writing, the new 4TB model is only $369.99 on Amazon. The prices of this portable SSD are some of the best on the market, but how good is this portable SSD? That’s what we will find out in this Crucial X8 4TB Portable SSD Review.

Specifications

With storage capacity of up to 4TB, you definitely won’t have to worry about available space. You’ll be able to store anything from movies to games. Apart from that, thanks to the USB 3.2 interface and USB-C adapter included in the box, you’ll be able to connect it to pretty much any device!

While the Crucial X8 4TB Portable SSD is shock and vibration proof, it’s also extremely small. This makes it perfect to carry around everywhere you go, without having to worry about its durability.

Testing

Testing the 4TB portable SSD using AS SSD Benchmark, the Crucial SSD achieved great results for an external SSD. As can be seen below, the read and write speeds are around 900 Mb/s, while using USB C, which aren’t bad at all.

The Crucial 4TB portable and external SSD is pretty much an all rounder. With a great price, and great read and write speeds, you won’t have to look for another external SSD anymore.
