Design

This headset is specifically designed for comfort. With its super comfortable memory foam ear cushions and padded leatherette headband, you can use this headset for hours. Its large 53 millimeter drivers ensure that you will have supreme audio quality at all times. Apart from that, the HyperX Cloud II comes with 7.1 virtual surround sound, to give you that in-game advantage over your opponents.

With its solid aluminium frame, the HyperX Cloud II is built to withstand long hours of daily use. This gaming headset is definitely built to last. One of the great things about this headset is that you are able to remove the microphone. If you do not want to use it, you can simply detach it. Also, if you like to use a dedicated microphone, you can remove the noise-cancelling microphone.

Accessories

Apart from the headset itself, and the detachable boom mic, there’s also a USB sound card in the box. The USB sound card can be attached to the gaming headset via the 3.5mm auxiliary cable. It features individual volume controls for both the audio and microphone, and also a microphone mute switch. It also features a 7.1 button which activates the surround sound feature.

Moreover, the headset also comes with a large and super sturdy nylon carry bag. This means that you can carry the headset and all the accessories around with you. A second pair of velour earpads are also included in the box. Finding a second pair of velour earpads in the box isn’t common, so we were very surprised when we found an extra pair. The nylon carry bag included in the box also has a separate enclosure to store the extra earpads!

Since the HyperX Cloud II uses a 3.5mm AUX cable, you can use it with any console or device that has an auxiliary port. When it comes to PC use, you should definitely use the included USB sound card adapter to get better performance.

Performance

Even though the HyperX Cloud II’s 7.1 surround sound is virtual, it’s still impressive! The 7.1 surround sound helps boost the immersion factor in games. The HyperX Cloud II produces is excellent at both high end and low end, which really brings out the explosions and music in games.

This also means that this gaming headset is also great for music. Having a gaming headset which can double as a headset to use for music is always great. When testing the headset out at full sound, it handled all the bass notes really well and the sound wasn’t distorted at all.
