Pros

  • Easy to set up
  • 16.7 million colors to choose from
  • Customizable light scenes

Cons

  • Expensive
  • Mobile application is laggy

Although the Nanoleaf Light Panels are a tad expensive, they are still by far one of the most mesmerizing lights that you can use to brighten up your home. With all the colors in the world to choose from, an infinite number of scenes, and also the ability to sync the lights to your favorite music (with the Rhythm module), these smart lights will definitely be a great addition to any gaming setup, or literally any room in the house.

Design

The Nanoleaf Light Panels starter kit comes with nine panels, the controller (which also acts as a power supply), and the necessary connectors required to link one triangular light panel to another. Apart from that, these smart lights also come with some extremely strong double-sided tape to stick these to any surface.

Nanoleaf Light Panels Unboxing

The panels were extremely easy to connect together, and thanks to the mobile application they are also extremely easy to control. The mobile application allows you to change the colors, the brightness, and also the flow in which the panels light up. I personally love to keep the panels in a Rainbow flow which slowly switches from one color of the rainbow to another. The application is a little annoying to control at first and a bit laggy at times, but it doesn’t take a lot of time to get used to it. If you’re not in the mood to create your own scenes, you can head over to the ‘Discover’ tab where there are hundreds of rhythms that you can download and use.

At 100% brightness the Nanoleaf Light Panels are absolutely blinding and are a bit too bright, so I would recommend keeping them at 50% – 80% brightness.

Rhythm Module

Nanoleaf also provides the possibility to get the ‘Rhythm Edition’ which comes with all the stuff mentioned above and a ‘Rhythm module’ which you can connect to the Nanoleaf Light Panels. This ‘Rhythm module’ allows the smart lights to listen to music and react accordingly. The mobile application lets you choose different rhythms, which basically makes the smart lights react to the music in a different way. You can create your own rhythms or head over to ‘Discover’ tab once again to explore different rhythms that others have created.

Smart Home Integration

Since the Nanoleaf Light Panels are indeed smart lights, they are compatible with Amazon Echo, HomeKit, Google Home, and much more. When paired with any of these applications, you can turn them on and off, change the color, and also adjust the brightness just by calling them with the name you gave them.

Bottom Line

The Nanoleaf Light Panels are quite expensive, but they’re extremely worth it if you want to brighten up your space with mesmerizing colors. The quality of each panel and the lights is beautiful, and they are exceptionally easy to connect and set up.
