Riotoro were kind enough to send me the Riotoro Ghostwriter Prism to write a review about it, and I am absolutely in love with it. The Riotoro Ghostwriter Prism features genuine German Cherry MX mechanical switches which are very quick, reliable and consistent. The Ghostwriter is the very first gaming keyboard that Riotoro produced after a few years of designing power supplies and cases. Although this is the first gaming keyboard that Riotoro has come up with, they have done a very great job. This keyboard is as good (or even better) as other gaming keyboards which are designed and produced by the big brands.

The Ghostwriter Prism has everything a gamer wants; a sleek look, RGB lighting with multiple lighting features, genuine German Cherry MX Switches, and dedicated media control.

Design

The Riotoro Ghostwriter Prism features a plastic chassis with an aluminum top which makes the keyboard very durable and with no flex at all when I tried to bend it. Since this keyboard is so sturdy, I wouldn’t mind taking it with me to a LAN party or a tournament. The top part of the keyboard is black while the back of the keyboard features a red/orange color which gives the keyboard a sleek but gaming aesthetic.

This gaming keyboard is a full-size keyboard with 104 keys topped off with ABS keycaps. ABS keycaps aren’t considered very good to some people, but I personally don’t mind them at all, and they can easily be changed to a set of your choice since the Riotoro Ghostwriter Prism features genuine Cherry MX Switches.

Apart from that,  a magnetic wrist rest is included with the keyboard, which you can simply snap on to the keyboard. The magnets in the wrist rest are strong so you don’t have to worry about the wrist rest constantly coming undone. I am not usually a fan of wrist rests since they take up a lot of space, but the included wrist rest is so comfortable and ergonomic. I have used this keyboard for around 6 hours straight and I never felt any fatigue or pain in my wrists.

Needless to say, this keyboard looks amazing with and without the RGB lighting turned on.

Features

The Ghostwriter features various lighting options which are completely customizable. This keyboard lets you choose which lighting effect you want, the speed, the color, the brightness, and even the direction of the lighting and this can all be done with a simple key click on the keyboard itself, no additional software required. Apart from that, the Riotoro Ghostwriter Prism can store five different custom light mappings in the keyboard’s memory, this lets you customize exactly how you want each different key on the keyboard to look.

The RGB effect of the keyboard is extremely beautiful and aesthetically pleasing, the lighting is bright, vibrant and as I said before, completely customizable with the click of a key on the keyboard.

The lighting isn’t the only customizable thing on the keyboard. Since Riotoro uses genuine Cherry MX switches, the keycaps can easily be exchanged to a keycap set of your choice. The possibilities are endless!

What surprised me was that Riotoro decided to design the keyboard with dedicated media keys and two USB 2.0 ports at the back of the keyboard. These features aren’t something which are seen in a lot of gaming keyboards so that the company can keep the cost down, but this isn’t the case with Riotoro.

On the whole, the Riotoro Ghostwriter Prism is a strong and durable keyboard which is made from an aluminum top and genuine Cherry MX switches. The keyboard also features a cool gaming look and vibrant lighting which makes it a perfect addition to your gaming setup.
